Hunting Licenses
First buy a base license, which lets you hunt small game. You can then buy additional licenses for other game. A base license is not needed to buy a fishing license.
The base license helps make hunting great in Michigan. It raises money for habitat and conservation work on both public and private land. It also funds the work of conservation officers and field staff, to make sure that safe and legal hunting practices are followed.
Sharing the Love of Hunting
The Mentored Youth Hunting program introduces youth under age ten to hunting and fishing. By eliminating the minimum hunting age in Michigan, the Mentored Youth Hunting program lets parents determine if and when their child is ready to hunt. The program lets parents and other adult mentors share a rich outdoor heritage by teaching children how to hunt and fish.
