Get the facts. High efficiency windows not only save energy and money – they keep you more comfortable year-round! Window #3 is your most efficient choice.
U-Factor:
Want to stay warm in the winter? Pick a window with a low U-Factor. The U-Factor tells you how much heat is lost through your window.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC):
Solar heat coming through the window can warm your house in the winter, but may make it too hot in the summer. The SHGC measures how much solar radiation goes through your window. The lower the number, the less heat gets in.
Air Fill:
Originally air was used to fill the space between panes of window glass, but today argon is often used in efficient windows. Argon gas improves the window’s thermal performance, which means argon gas-filled windows provide better insulation than air-filled windows.
