LET'S HEAD OUTDOORS! With more than 13,000 MILES of trails in Michigan, there's something for everyone.

Trails Aren’t Always In the Woods:
The Dequindre Cut Greenway and the Detroit Riverwalk are urban trails. They connect people in the cities to nature and are safe ways get places without a car. People like to live in cities with urban trails.

A Partnership Built These Trails

Michigan’s trail system was created and is maintained through partnerships – not-for-profit trail clubs, trail sponsors, local communities, the Department of Natural Resources and people just like you. Make sure our trails are here for years to come by getting involved with local groups as they remove brush, put up signs and groom local trails.

A STEWARD CE MICHIGAN'S HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER GRID

ITC operates and maintains the high-voltage electric transmission grid serving communities across Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. The integrated approach IT employs to manage vegetation in its transmission line corridors to ensure safe and reliable electricity service can also make these spaces suitable for recreational trails.
ITC partners with Michigan communities to provide recreational trails in urban and suburban areas, which can complement and connect the trail network across Michigan’s State Parks and Forests where ITC corridors serve people, plants and wildlife.
